Engraved SEGALLAS Antique British BOX LOCK FLINTLOCK Metal POCKET Pistol
Mid-18th Century POCKET or BELT Pistol
Here we present an antique metal British Segallas Box Lock Cannon Barrel Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early to mid-1700s. Israel Segalas was a French Huguenot who migrated to England in the late 17th century and was a well known and active gunmaker in London in the early 18th century. Many, likely most, pistols signed “Segallas” or “Segalas” were actually manufactured in France and Belgium by other gunmakers looking to capitalize on his name. This example is marked “London” on the right, “Segallas” on the left in script and has fancy scrollwork throughout.
The overall condition is near fine. The action is excellent. The bore is in good shape and well rifled. Solid construction throughout.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 1-3/8 inches.
Caliber: .38 Flintlock
Overall condition as seen in photos.
Here is an interesting flintlock pistol!
