Here we present a C&R German Proofed H. Ebigt Single Shot 8mm Centerfire Caliber Target Rifle, made circa the early to mid-1900s in Freiberg, Germany. Not too many German single shot hunting rifles can be found because most serious hunters likely owned either a “Drilling”, a combination gun, or a bolt action Sporting Rifle. But, there were those who know they needed only one shot, and they were the ones that were attracted to this type of rifle. This would have been a very handy rifle to carry and load for the forester or hunter. Its single shot action would have been great to teach a young lad the importance of making every shot count!

The overall condition is very good. Original blue finish. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock shows a series of small patches in the wood arranged in a straight line on the underside as well as the comb of the stock. Solid throughout.
