Product Description
ENGRAVED Antique Mid-1800s Half-Stock .65 Caliber Percussion FOWLING PIECE
Kentucky Style HUNTING/HOMESTEAD Shotgun
Here we present an antique Percussion Fowler, made circa the mid-19th Century. Its 38-1/2” part-octagonal barrel is in .65 caliber (about 16 gauge) and has plenty of length to reach the “high flying” birds to cook for supper that evening. This one is fairly light and handy, though long by today’s standards. It has a Golcher lock.
The overall condition is very good. Original finish/patina. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and gray. The stock is solid. There is a small repair that goes from the tip of the barrel tang to the rear of the lock. It is stable and subtle. The ramrod is a later replacement.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 38-1/2 inches.
Caliber: .65
Overall condition as seen in photos.
