ENGRAVED Antique COLT “NEW LINE” .22 ETCHED PANEL Pocket Revolver WILD WEST
Nickel Plated SELF DEFENSE/HIDEOUT Revolver
Here we present an antique Etched Panel Colt New Line .22 Revolver, made in 1876 in Hartford, Connecticut. The New Line was a single action pocket revolver introduced by the Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company in 1873 and continued through 1884, with the .22 caliber being manufactured between 1873 and 1877 with a total of roughly 55,343 being manufactured.
The revolver features 7 shots of .22 rimfire. Of all the Colt “New Line” revolvers made, the .22 caliber was the only one featuring a 7 shot cylinder. All other calibers utilized a 5-shot cylinder. Etched on the left side of the barrel is “COLT NEW 22”.
The overall condition is good. Some original nickel plating is present on the frame. Parts of the action function, but the return spring has no tension, and the cylinder does not lock up. Good bore for its age with serviceable rifling. Etchings on the left barrel are worn with only remnants are visible. Nice floral engravings. Solid grips with average wear.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 2-1/4 inches.
Caliber: .22 Rimfire
Overall condition as seen in photos.
