Here we present an antique T. Richards Flintlock Belt Pistol, made circa turn of the century in England. The brass barrel has pre-1813 London “private proofs”. This would have been a handy pistol made for fighting, being of good size but not too big. It has a belt hook for hanging. “T. Richards” signed lock. There is some delicate wire inlay at the top of the stock behind the barrel.
The overall condition is good. Patina throughout. The wire inlay remains complete. The action is strong. The bore is smooth. The forestock has been repaired: at the front of the ramrod tube there is a seam; otherwise solid throughout.
