ENGLISH Antique ADAMS of NEWTON ABBOT, DEVON Small Sidehammer .32 Pistol
c1850 ENGRAVED FOLDING TRIGGER HIDEOUT
Here we present an antique Adams Sidehammer Boxlock Percussion Pistol, made circa 1850 in Newton-Abbot, Devon, England. This pistol was made by John Adams at Bridge Street. This little self-defense pistol would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London or Paris during the tumultuous 1800s. This pistol is small, light and simple. It has a turn-off barrel for loading without a ramrod. The trigger stows flat in the frame until the hammer is cocked, at which time, it folds down and is exposed for use.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The action is strong. Nice smooth bore. The grip has retained sharp checkering and a bright, smooth finish. It is seated firm at the frame. The frame is lightly engraved with floral designs.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 1-1/2 inches.
