Product Description

Early 1950s HIGH STANDARD “Field King” .22 RF Target Pistol C&R PLINKER

With a Reputation for RELIABILITY and ACCURACY

Here we present a C&R High Standard “Field King” Pistol, made during its production run between 1951 and 1953 in New Haven, Connecticut. The High Standard Mfg. Co. was officially founded in 1926 and in 1932 it moved to a bigger plant in Hamden, Conn., where production began. The Field King is a .22 long rifle, semi-automatic pistol manufactured with a short production run of only three years. The pistol features a blued 6-3/4 inch barrel, frame, and action with brown plastic checkered grips. The barrel is marked “High Standard Mfg. Corp. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A.” and is marked to the right “Field King”.

High Standard’s production over the years has been vast and has a reputation for both reliability and accuracy. Over time, it mainly produced handguns, including plinkers, target guns, long and short barrels, as well as serious competition pieces. If you’ve ever heard the term “space gun”, odds are good that they were talking about High Standard.

The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Excellent action. The bore is shiny right with strong rifling. Markings are sharp. Solid, fine grips.

Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.

Barrel is 6-3/4 inches.

Caliber: .22 LR Rimfire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
