Product Description

DELUXE JM MARLIN Model 1893 Lever Action .32-40 WCF Rifle C&R Made in 1900

Marlin’s First Smokeless Powder Rifle!

Here we present a Special Order J.M. Marlin Model 1893 Rifle in .32-40 WCF, made in 1900 in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin Firearms was founded in the 1870s by John Marlin and was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. Marlin produced a large assortment of firearms such as lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns and single shot rifles.

The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. This one features a part-octagonal, part-round barrel of 26 inches, chambered for the .32-40 Winchester Center Fire cartridge, one known for its inherent accuracy. Accentuating this attractive barrel profile is the half-length magazine. This rifle is also equipped with a tang mounted Lyman rear peep sight and a Lyman flip up sight, that has a simple blade as well as a post with a halo if flipped up. The barrel is blued and the receiver and lever case hardened. This rifle was one of the most popular Marlin lever-action models ever made with over one million model 1893s manufactured. This one is in great shape and remains a classic!

The overall condition is fine. Lovely original blue finish and case colors. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is bright and in fine shape. All the marks are clear and sharp. “MFA” Marlin cast butt plate. “<SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL>” on the barrel. “<MARLIN SAFETY>” on the top of the receiver. This is a sweet rifle that was clearly loved by its original owner. A great rifle in a great cartridge!
