DANISH MILITARY Antique Model 1772 HEAVY DRAGOON .72 Cal. FLINTLOCK Pistol
RARE Netherlands Military Proofed NAPOLEONIC WARS
Here we present an antique Danish Model 1772 Heavy Dragoon Flintlock Naval Pistol, made circa the 1770s likely in Rotterdam in the Netherlands with a production run between 1772 and 1806. These are very rare, and seldom seen on the market, especially in the original flintlock configuration. This is a nice example of the Danish Flintlock model 1772 Dragoon/Naval Pistol with a 13″ barrel and overall length of 20 inches.
The pistol features a nice hardwood stock with heavy brass mounts and is very substantially made. These classic Danish pistols were in service throughout the Napoleonic wars.
The overall condition is very good. Robust action. Semi-bright bore, clear, and smooth. Solid stock/grip with less than expected handling. This example is marked with the number “20” throughout. The stock to the left of the trigger guard some period graffiti can be seen.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 13 inches.
Caliber: .70 Flintlock
Overall condition as seen in photos.
