CHEAPSIDE LONDON ADDRESS BRACE FLINTLOCK PISTOLS British Antique R. CLARKE
1790s Matched Pair of Engraved Sidearms
Here we present an antique Engraved Matching Pair of Richard Clark of Flintlock Pistols, made circa the late 1700s in London, England. Richard Clarke was active working out of Cheapside, London circa 1790 through 1796, and was later Richard Clarke & Son between 1797 and 1829.
These pistols feature nice engraving. Each side of the pistols is marked with “R CLARKE” and “No. 102-Cheapside LONDON”. Each gun has Birmingham proof marks. Silver thumb plates on each. These would have been made for the purpose of carrying for self-defense and were sold in a pair, since each is a single shot, and having two shots is better than one!
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The actions are excellent. The bores are smooth and in good condition. The barrels unscrew just fine. The stocks are solid. A fantastic set of flintlock pistols!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 3-5/8 inches. Overall length 9-3/16 inches.
Calibers are .50 Flintlock
Overall condition as seen in photos.
