Product Description
Cased, Lettered NEW YORK Engraved SMITH & WESSON .32 S&W REVOLVER Gold Silver
Shipped to Marcus Hartley in New York City 1909
Here we present an Engraved Smith & Wesson Double Action Revolver in .32 S&W, shipped in 1909 to Marcus Hartley Co. of New York, New York per the accompanying factory letter. The shipment was for 20 revolvers total. This one left with a nickel finish and hard rubber grips. It would have been Hartley that had this piece engraved and the original stocks replaced with solid mother of pearl. The cylinder was then plated in gold. This excellent revolver still boasts fantastic blue and case colored accents and it resides in a very nice velvet-lined case.
The overall condition is very fine. A lovely combination of finishes: nickel, gold, blue and case colors. The action is strong and tight. The bore is in fine shape. The grips are excellent. This would have been a nice gun to wear in a small belt holster or slip into a pocket for self-defense. Of course, this one was likely given to someone as a gift on a special occasion and looks rarely if ever fired.
