Product Description

c1975 mfr COLD WAR WEST GERMAN WALTHER PP Pistol .32 ACP in BOX 2 Magazines

With PAPERS, OIL BOTTLE, & EXTRA MAGAZINE

Here we present a Walther Model PP Pistol, made in 1975 in West Germany during the Cold War. The PP and the PPK were among the world’s first successful double action semi-automatic pistols. The PP, or Police Pistol (Polizei Pistole) was a handgun designed for use by the German Police. This weapon found considerable use across both military and civilian markets and proved to be one of the most famous of its kind, which was really the first truly successful double-action semi-automatic pistol using an external hammer. When WWII began, many different organizations within the Third Reich and outside made use of these handy and reliable pistols. The PPK was the smaller version of this pistol and most famously used by the fictional spy, James Bond, but was also the pistol supposedly used in Hitler’s alleged suicide. The PPK is still manufactured by Walther, but the PP went out of production in 1999. These little pistols have been widely copied over the years.

They feature an exposed hammer, a traditional double-action trigger mechanism, a single-column magazine, and a fixed barrel that also acts as the guide rod for the recoil spring. The series includes the Walther PP, PPK, PPK/S, and PPK/E models. The Walther TPH pocket pistol is a smaller caliber pistol introduced in 1971 identical in handling and operation to the PPK. Various PP series have been manufactured in Germany, France and the United States. In the past, the PPK version was manufactured by Walther in its own factory in Germany, as well as under licenses by Manurhin in France, Interarms in Virginia, and by Smith & Wesson in Maine. Since 2018, PPK and PPK/S models have been built at the factory of U.S.-based subsidiary Walther Arms, Inc.
