S&W Single/Double Action TARGET Pistol
Here we present a C&R Smith & Wesson 3rd Model Single Shot Target Pistol in .22 Rimfire made circa 1922 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Manufactured from 1909 to 1923, this model, also known as the “Perfected Target” pistol and is identified by the trigger guard which is integral with the frame and the trigger centered in the trigger guard.
Also, unlike the first and second model, the 3rd Model is able to fire in either single or double action. The rib is marked with the standard two line Springfield address/patent dates, and the S&W trademark is on the left side of the frame.
The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish and case colors. The action is excellent in both double and single action modes. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Solid grip. Matching numbers.
