BRASS BARRELED .58 Cal FLINTLOCK Pistol with Antique RAMSAY SUTHERLAND Lock
Large Pistol with British Musket Lock!
Here we present a Brass Barreled Flintlock Pistol. This pistol started around an old Ramsay Sutherland flint lock. Ramsay Sutherland was an active gunmaker in Birmingham, England in the early 19th century prior to his death on May 9, 1833. This lock likely came off of a British “Brown Bess” rifle from the same era. The barrel, pommel cap, and trigger guard are of brass. The bore is smooth.
The overall condition is good. The action is strong and tight. The re-sleeved bore of the brass barrel is in very good shape. “LONDON” and “RAMSAY/SUTHERLAND” is engraved on the lock. The handle has been repaired at some point in the past. “1711” is engraved on the wrist plaque. Here is a solid and hearty flintlock pistol with a unique aesthetic!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
