BRACE of FRENCH Officer’s Pistols by BLANCHARD of MAUBEUGE .69 cal Antique
Beautiful Matching Sidearms
Here we present an antique Pair of antique French Officer’s Pistols, made circa the mid-1830s in Maubeuge, France. The Blanchard family of gun makers started in Paris circa 1775. The son, who later made these deluxe percussion pistols, worked at #36 Rue de Clery in Paris circa 1825-1850 and also in Maubeuge. One of his well-known clients was the Duke of Orleans.
The overall condition is good. Original patina, much of the twist pattern in the barrels is still visible. The actions are excellent. The shank of one of the hammers has been repaired, long ago and remains solid. The bores are in good condition, patinated with fine groove rifling. The stocks show use and there is a small repair of a chip on the left side of one of the guns at the barrel wedge. Otherwise, solid throughout.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 8 inches.
