BRACE of ENGRAVED BOXLOCK PISTOLS with SILVER WIRE Inlaid Stocks Antique
Mid-1800s Personal Defense Arms
Here we present an Antique Brace of Boxlock Pistols, likely of French Origin, made circa the 1850s. These are larger than pocket pistols but still quite concealable. Each has a generous .56 caliber bore with Damascus octagonal barrels, as well as carved and silver wire inlaid stocks. These would have been very handy for walking around town or traveling. These kinds of pistols were in many cases made and carried in pairs. It is amazing they have stayed together all these years!
The overall condition is very good. Nice pattern remains on the barrels. The actions are strong. The bores are smooth and dim. Grips are solid. Most of the silver wire inlay remains on each.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 4-3/8 inches.
Calibers: .56 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
