Product Description

BRACE of Antique COLT SAA in .45 LC w/ S.D. MYRES El Paso HOLSTER RIG Belt

Pair of Single Action Army Revolvers & Extra Cylinders

Here we present a Brace of Antique Colt Single Action Armies in a Hand-Tooled Double Holster & Belt Rig by S.D. Myres of El Paso, Texas. #81824 was made in 1882 while #32377 was made in 1876. Both have been refinished identically. #81824 was a US Ordnance contract “cavalry” model that probably went through the remodeling (artillery model) process at the end of the 19th Century. The frame still bears the initials of David F. Clark, Ordnance inspector.

Samuel Dale Myres was born in Johnson County, TX in 1871 and started his namesake business in 1898. He moved the business to El Paso in 1920 where it continued to thrive. Myres made holsters for and interacted with many Western movie stars of his day. In addition to fancy “cowboy” rigs his company also made many other notable holsters that were for more modern arms that law enforcement and civilians used alike. He was truly a trendsetter in his industry. The Myres holsters and loop belt rig that accompany these guns are set up for .45 Colt and are hand-tooled with great detail. The buckle, tip, and keeper are all of engraved sterling silver and are a top-of-the-line addition to a premium rig by a famous Texas maker.

The overall condition is fine. Both of these revolvers have been refinished in blue with case hardened/colored frames. Both have been numbered to match the frame number on trigger guard and grip frame. #81824 has had the “U.S.” marking on the left side of the frame traced and the rear of the top strap of the frame shows a welded repair. Both actions are in fine condition, holding the safety notch, half cock notch, and full cock notch, with similar mainspring tension and trigger pulls. The bores are shiny bright with sharp rifling. Grips are commercial SAA style grips that match and remain solid and in nice condition. The Myres holsters and belt are in fine condition. Cartridges in the belt loops will be included per our discretion. Comes with two additional cylinders as well.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 5 ½”.

Caliber: .45 Colt

Overall condition as seen in photos.
