BOXED SET of Antique FLINTLOCK PISTOLS with a REVOLUTIONARY WAR THEME
Two Ornate Pistols with a Stag Handled Knife
Here we present a Boxed Set of Antique Flintlock Pistols & a Stag-Handled Knife. We estimate that the pistols and knife were made circa the late-18th or early-19th Century. The pistols are ornate and the décor is typical of southeastern Europe.
Top: The overall condition is good. Dark patina throughout. The action is functional but not strong. The bore is smooth and dim. The stock is carved and in good condition for its age.
Bottom: The overall condition is good. Patina throughout. The action is not functional. The bore is smooth and dim. The underside of the stock around the front of the lock has been repaired and is otherwise solid. There is a brass thumb plate on the back of the grip that has the crude inscription “Don’t tread on me 1754”.
Included with these pistols is a pine case with various images, text, etc. related to the American Revolution decoration it along with a “1771” marked knife with an 8 inch blade and stag grip. The knife is in good overall condition with a dark patina. Straight blade. Still somewhat sharp. Solid stag handle.
Own the original! These are legitimate antiques and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 13-5/8 inches and 11-7/8.
Calibers: Both are .68 Flintlock.
Overall condition as seen in photos.
