Antique W. & C. SCOTT & SON Percussion DOUBLE BARREL SxS HAMMER Shotgun
12 Gauge Percussion SIDE x SIDE with Fine Twist Barrels
Here we present an antique W & C Scott & Son Side by Side Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, made circa 1861 in Birmingham, England. W. C. Scott began making shotguns in 1841 and continued until 1869 when the name was changed to William Scott & Son and continued until 1875 when it closed up shop. This would have been a good gun for fowl hunting.
The overall condition is very good. The action is tight and robust. Both bores are in good shape. The percussion nipples are a bit peened. The refinished walnut stock is in fine shape with sharp checkering. The finish on the barrels has matured to a smooth brown patina. Here is a wonderful shotgun for display!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
