Here we present an antique Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Hammerless Top Break Revolver in .38 S&W, made circa 1897 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed for self-defense in the years leading up to the turn of the century.
The overall condition is good. Original nickel finish. Fully functioning action. The trigger safety spring is missing. Ejector rod intermittently functions. Some left to right movement is present in the cylinder when locked up. Fark bore. Markings are legible. Worn grips.
