With BRASS HILT and FLUTED BRASS GRIP
Here we present an antique European Military Style Lionhead Pommel Saber manufactured circa the late 1700s to early 1800s. Craftsmen manufactured this style of sword throughout the eighteenth century. The Lion Head pommel ornament became extremely popular in the 1750 in continental Europe and Britain with examples of this pattern continuing well beyond the American Revolution.
The overall condition is good. The blade is oxidized with some surface pitting. The hilt is in good shape and remains solid. The overall length of this sword is 37-1/4 inches and the blade measures 31-3/4 inches. It sports a Lionhead pommel, a brass hilt with crowns on the guard, and a fluted brass grip.
