Antique ETHAN ALLEN Style .22 Caliber Rimfire Single Shot DERINGER Pistol
Very Small SELF-DEFENSE Pocket Pistol
Here we present an antique unmarked Ethan Allen Style .22 Single Shot Deringer Pistol, made circa the late 1860s to the early 1880s. Less than 1,000 are estimated to have been made of the Ethan Allen deringers in a myriad of different variations of barrel shape, length, lockup, etc.
The Single Shot Deringer was designed to be a close quarters conceal and carry defense pistol in a day in which almost everyone carried a firearm. Whether in a busy Eastern city or a dusty Western boom town, a small, simple and reliable firearm was the order of the day. This .22 rimfire pistol was small and simple, exactly what most people needed.
The barrel pivots to the right for loading and unloading. There is an extractor connected to the frame, so that when the breech is opened the cartridge case is pulled out.
The overall condition is good. The action partially functions, but the hammer does not cock. Good bore (aged). The grips are firmly seated and contain less than average wear. Marked “65” on the frame under the barrel.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 2-1/4 inches.
Caliber: .22 rimfire
Overall condition as seen in photos.
