Antique ETHAN ALLEN & Co. Style .22 RF Single Shot POCKET DERINGER Pistol
With Part Octagonal, Part Round Barrel
Here we present an antique Ethan Allen & Co. Style .22 Single Shot Deringer Pistol, made circa the late 1860s. Less than 1,000 of the Ethen Allen examples are estimated to have been made in a myriad of different variations of barrel shape, length, lockup, etc. The Single Shot Deringer was designed to be a close quarters conceal and carry defense pistol in a day in which almost everyone carried a firearm. Whether in a busy Eastern city or a dusty Western boom town, a small, simple and reliable firearm was the order of the day. This .32 rimfire pistol was small and simple, exactly what most people needed.
The barrel pivots to the right for loading and unloading. There is an extractor connected to the frame, so that when the breech is opened the cartridge case is pulled out. The barrel is a part octagon, part round variant. The frame is brass and the barrel is iron.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape. Both grips are good with an expected amount of handling wear.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 2 inches.
