Product Description
Antique 1700s Ornate European FLINTLOCK Pistol .68 Caliber Dragoon Pirate
18th Century Martial Pistol
Here we present an antique European Flintlock Martial Pistol. This pistol was made in the 1700s for military applications on horseback. The firearm was embellished by hand on its wood and metal surfaces. The designs on the wood are relief carved. The pistol features a long barrel and the butt-cap is solid and heavy as one would expect for a single shot weapon of the time period. When one did not have time to reload, one reversed the grip and swung for skull.
The overall condition is fair. Gray patina throughout. The action is not functional as the hammer will not hold the cock notches. The bore is smooth and dim. The stock has been slightly shortened at the front and wrapped with wire to stabilize a thin split along the ramrod channel; otherwise solid. A handsome piece with some character that would make a great display.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 10 inches.
Caliber: .68 Flintlock
