.54 Cal. BRITISH Antique PHILLIPS of LONDON Flintlock NAVAL/MILITARY Pistol
Circa 1813 BRASS BARRELED Pistol!
Here we present an antique Phillips of London Brass Barrel Flintlock Pistol, made circa 1813 in Great Britain. This pistol could have been the prize of the Captain of a ship or an officer in the British military. The brass would fare much better in the salty spray or even any damp conditions than a similar pistol in steel. This would have been a serious sidearm during this early colonial period. The bore is a .54 caliber “manstopper”, has Birmingham proofs, and is marked “LONDON” on the top of the breech. “PHILLIPS” is marked on the lock. This is a fantastic example of a pistol that might have seen action during the War of 1812 or the Napoleonic Wars!
Overall condition is good. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and in good shape. There is a crack on the underside of the fore stock. This is a wonderful piece of British history that would make an impressive display!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 9-7/8 inches in length.
Caliber: .54 Flintlock
Overall condition as seen in photos.
