Product Description

19th Century MACHETE STYLE Fighting Sword with BRASS GUARD

With a Solid WOODEN GRIP

Here we present an Machete Style Fight Sword made circa the mid-19th century. Machetes come in all shapes and sizes. Throughout its long history across the many rural areas of the world, the machete has evolved many styles, features and adaptations for specific uses and environments. Names and styles vary from region to region, and often overlap, and you may hear the same machete called by different names in different areas. Preferences for one style over another are generally subjective, and like many other things, based in large part on region, tradition and experience.

This example features an overall length of 31 inches with a 26 inch blade. It has a brass guard and a wood grip. The overall condition is good. Solid grip and brass hand guard. The blade is oxidized and contains the expected amount of wear.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Overall condition as seen in photos.
