1960s COLT Fourth Model SINGLE SHOT .22 Caliber Short Rimfire DERINGER C&R
Updated Classic, Reintroduced after almost 50 Years!
Here we present a Colt Fourth Model “Thuer” Deringer made in circa 1959 through 1963 in New Haven, Connecticut. This was named for its designer and was the quintessential gambler’s pistol during the 19th Century. This little hideout pistol was initially made from the 1870s through the early-20th Century in .41 Rimfire. This cartridge long obsolete, Colt decided to give this design a new lease on life and made these in a short run in .22 Short. This cartridge might not be thought of as a defensive cartridge today, but that was one of its primary purposes in the early-1860s through the end of the century.
The overall condition is very good. Excellent action. Bright bore. There is a slight movement in the grips, but they remain in good shape. A scarce little Colt pistol in a very accessible cartridge!
