Here we present a C&R U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured by Harrington & Richardson circa 1954 in Worcester, Massachusetts. This .30-06 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War and also saw service during the Vietnam War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.”
This rifle features a H&R Arms Co. receiver dating to 1954. The barrel is marked LMR D6535448 10 53 A21 P M with Ordnance crossed cannons. The bolt is marked 6528287-SA/US2. The trigger group is marked D28290-12 SA and the hammer is marked HRA 5546008. The receiver leg is marked D-6528291. RRAD 10-65 is hand marked under that. The op rod is marked NM and 7790722-RA.
The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. Clean, bright bore with nice rifling, measuring .300. The stock is smooth and in very nice shape. There is cleaning hardware within the trap in the stock.
