1942 WORLD WAR II German J.P. SAUER & SOHN “ce/42” Code/Date K98 WW2 Rifle
Scarce Script “ce” Code Infantry Arm!
Here we present a WWII German J. P. Sauer & Sohn “ce” Code “42” Date K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1942 in Suhl, Germany. The K98 was the primary infantry weapon for the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. The model was adopted prior to the Great War and proved its worth all the way through the 1940s.
This one was made in the middle of the war and features a laminate stock, generous sights, and a fantastic action. Proof and inspection markings abound on the stock, butt plate, receiver, and barrel.
The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. This example sports a solid laminate stock with expected handling. The numbers match throughout to include the barrel, receiver, barrel bands, magazine assembly, front sight, rear sight assembly, though the bolt assembly belonged to a different gun and is number 8759 (bolt parts match each other). A very nice K98 from Sauer & Sohn!
