Product Description
1918 WORLD WAR I Dated DWM German LUGER P.08 9mm Semi-Automatic PISTOL C&R
With WaA100 Marked THIRD RIECH HOLSTER
Here we present a C&R German DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) Pistole Parabellum P.08 Military Luger Pistol, made in 1918 in Berlin. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical and productive fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end.
The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with being carried by German troops during both World Wars and is perhaps the most associated with those events. The top of the chamber is Great War dated “1918”. The top of the toggle is marked “DWM”.
The overall condition is near fine. Original finish. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with nice rifling. The grips shows some wear and use and remain good overall. The numbers match with the exception of the grips and magazine. The leather holster is in very good condition.
