Product Description
1916 GREAT WAR German LUGER Pistol SERIAL NUMBER 18 X Marked DWM 9x19mm C&R
IMPERIAL GERMAN, WWI, WEIMAR, WW2, COLD WAR
Here we present a C&R German Military P.08 Luger Pistol by DWM, made in 1916 in Berlin, Germany. The right side of the barrel extension has the three “Crown/Script” German military proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. It is also marked with an “X” on the front of the frame, normally indicating that it was a Russian captured weapon at the close of World War II. This is a fantastic example of a sidearm that was used under multiple regimes in Imperial Germany from 1916, during the Great War, under the Weimar government in the interwar period, under the Third Reich and through World War II, and finally, under the Soviet Russians who held Eastern Germany throughout the Cold War.
The overall condition is very good. Refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition: bright with still good though definitely worn rifling. Grips are solid. Numbers match throughout with the exception of the unnumbered grips (WaA inside the right panel). Import markings are on the underside of the barrel. Also included is a 1915 dated (inside the flap) leather holster in good condition; it does have a couple holes from wear—one in the back and one in the front where the end of the grip might have rubbed. Also comes with a spare magazine also matching the gun. A great rig to go with a low serial numbered Luger pistol in 9mm that saw multiple wars!
