Product Description

1913 WINCHESTER Model 1894 Lever Action RIFLE 2/3 Magazine Shotgun Butt C&R

Very Nice with Tang-Mounted Marbles Peep

Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, made in 1913 in New Haven, Connecticut. This rifle features a 26 inch round barrel with a shotgun butt stock and a 2/3 length magazine. This would have been special ordered this way from the factory. Such modifications to the standard design would have changed the weight distributions and the shotgun butt stock would have made the rifle slightly more comfortable to shoulder for some. This one has a Lyman front sight: it is a semi-circular shape in a dovetail with a serrated rear and a small white bead at the apex. The barrel mounted rear sight has been replaced with a fold-down piece to accommodate the Marbles tang-mounted peep sight. This would have been a fine rifle for the scabbard or the forest.

The overall condition is near fine. Original blue finish/patina. The action is excellent. The bore is fine: bright with sharp rifling. The walnut stock is smooth and in great shape.

This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.

Barrel is 26 inches.

Caliber: .30-30 Winchester Center Fire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
