Product Description

1913 Dated WORLD WAR I Era DWM German LUGER P.08 9mm Semi-Auto PISTOL C&R

GERMAN MILITARY ARM w/BRITISH CAPTURE Proof Marks

Here we present a C&R German DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) Pistole Parabellum P.08 Military Luger Pistol, made in 1913 in Berlin. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical and productive fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end.

This pistol is a nice example of a World War I German Luger manufactured by DWM in 1913 with British proof marks, indicating that this was a bringback to the British Isles during the war. The underside of the barrel is marked with the full British proofmarks that consist of “9 M/M, 752/15 TONS”. The right side of the barrel extension has the three “Crown/Script” proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof.

The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with being carried by German troops during both World Wars and is perhaps the most associated with those events. The top of the chamber is pre-Great War dated “1913”. The top of the toggle is marked “DWM”.

The overall condition is good. Refinished in black. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The numbers match, including the grips, but excluding the magazine (which is a modern and fine Mec-Gar) and the side plate (which is numbered “79”). A nice bringback from the Great War!

This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.

Barrel is 4 inches.

Caliber: 9x19mm Luger

Overall condition as seen in photos.
