Product Description
1913 COLT POCKET POSITIVE Double Action .32 Colt SELF DEFENSE Revolver C&R
Improved Successor to the COLT NEW POCKET Model
Here we present a C&R Colt Pocket Positive First Issue Double Action Revolver, made in 1913 by the Colt Manufacturing Company with a production run from 1905 through 1927 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt Pocket Positive revolver was the improvement of the previous New Pocket model, with the addition of Colt’s new “Positive Safety” feature. The Positive Safety was a steel bar that retracted down inside the action as the trigger was pulled and allowed the hammer to move forward and fire the cartridge. This added an additional layer of safety to the Colt rebounding hammer safety feature of the New Pocket and made it safer if the gun were to be dropped on the hammer.
This 6-shot revolver was available in .32 Short Colt, .32 Long Colt, and .32 Police. It came in barrel lengths of 2.5”, 3.5”, 4”, 5”, and 6” varieties.
The overall condition is good. Excellent action. The bore is lightly frosted but remains in good shape with visible rifling. Legible markings. Both plastic grips are in good shape with minimal handling wear. This example has been refinished in nickel.
