Product Description

1800s Engraved ENGLISH Antique TAYLOR .43 Caliber Percussion Pistol Brit

Ornate, Gold and German Silver Banded Pistol

Here we present an antique Percussion Pistol by Taylor, made circa the 1840s in England. This type of single-shot percussion pistol was very popular from the 18th and into the 19th Centuries, in Europe, as well as the colonies. This would have been the kind of pistol a man could wear on his belt and keep in well-concealed—good for the city streets or the lonely country highway in an era of highwaymen.

Lovely Damascus twist octagonal barrel in .43 caliber. There is a cap trap in the pommel cap. The checkered grain of the grip is higher end work and beautiful. The frame is nicely engraved. The back action lock is marked “TAYLOR” and the bottom of the barrel has Birmingham proofs. A very nice and quality concealed carry pistol from 19th Century England.

The overall condition is fine. Very attractive Damascus barrel. The action is as strong as ever. The bore is in very nice shape. The finish on the stock is in great condition. This is a really gorgeous pistol from 19th Century England!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 4-1/2 inches.

Caliber: .43

Overall condition as seen in photos.
