PAIR of Antique European BOXLOCK Single Shot FLINTLOCK POCKET/MUFF Pistols
Early 1800s FOLDING TRIGGER Self Defense Pistols
Here we present a pair of antique Boxlock Flintlock Self Defense Pistols, made circa the early 1800s. These little self-defense pistols would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of Paris, London, and Liege during the very early 1800s. These pistols are small, light and simple. They have triggers that folds up into the frame until the hammers are cocked at which point they drop into a usable position—this keeps them from snagging in a pocket. They also each have screw-off barrels for loading without a ramrod.
The overall condition is good. Gray patinas. The actions are excellent. The bores are patinated and smooth. The grips are solid, though each has been repaired around the top tang. One of the pistols has a chip missing from the top of the grip. A nice little set!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are both 1-1/4 inches.
Calibers are both .36 Flintlock.
Overall condition as seen in photos.
