Fine Nickel IVER JOHNSON Safety Hammer .32 DA SELF DEFENSE Revolver C&R
Made Circa the Early 1900s in Fitchburg, Massachusetts
Here Ancestry Guns presents a C&R Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Safety Hammer Top Break Double Action Revolver in .32 S&W Centerfire, made circa the turn of the century in Fitchburg, with a production run between 1896 and 1941. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century continuing on into the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
The overall condition is fine. Original nickel and blue finishes. Strong action. The bore is in very good shape, has a lightly frosted appearance and maintains serviceable rifling. Fine grips. Markings are legible. Patent dates on the butt are worn.
