Product Description
AMERICAN Antique “MILITIA” Type .70 Caliber PERCUSSION Smoothbore Musket
Early-US Republic Martial Musket, Conversion
Here we present an antique American Militia Smoothbore Musket. Original made circa the late-18th or early-19th Century in flintlock, this musket was later updated to the percussion firing system with a drum inserted into the vent and a then-new lock. This long arm was clearly based to an extent on the British Brown Bess with its full-length stock with pinned smoothbore barrel. This one has some rudimentary rifle style sights. These were not made to be the epitome of accuracy, being good enough for hitting a target lined up in a row.
The overall condition is good. Original patina. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age, smooth and dim. Solid stock with an average amount of wear.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 41-1/2 inches.
Caliber: .70 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
